DEMONSTRATORS PROTEST ALLEGED BRUTALITY BY ALBANY POLICE COALITION TO MEET WITH POLICE CHIEF NEXT WEEK.(Local)

Demonstrators gathered on the steps of City Hall Monday to protest alleged police brutality and announce a meeting with Chief John Dale next week.

The meeting between Dale and the Capital District Coalition Against Apartheid and Racisim is considered to be the first time in recent memory that an activist group has arranged a face-to-face talk with an Albany police chief on such an issue. Dale is expected to be confronted with demands that the department end the alleged use of excessive force and racial profiles in targeting drug suspects.
