Fed: Drink driving on the rise report

The Australian Institute of Criminology says drink-driving is on the rise and more
people in the city, rather than the bush, are guilty.

A report of an institute survey released today notes the transgression rate's greater
in the cities than in the country.

The survey's found the proportion of city-dwellers who drove with a blood-alcohol level
of over 0.05 increased from around 10 per cent a year in 1995 to 18 per cent by 1998.

In the country, the rate went up from a similar 10 per cent in 1995 to 16 per cent
three years later.
