NEW YORK - Top-ranked golfer Lorena Ochoa and Tennessee softball pitcher Monica Abbott were selected Sportswomen of the Year by the Women's Sports Foundation.

They were honored Monday along with figure skater Michelle Kwan and the Rutgers women's basketball team at the annual Salute to Women in Sports dinner.

Ochoa, 25, won seven LPGA events this season - including her first major - and earned a record $3.3 million in prize money.

Abbott, 22, led the Lady Vols to the NCAA final before losing to Arizona. She holds Division I career records for wins (189), strikeouts (2,440) and shutouts (112).
