OSCAR NOMINATIONS BOOST FILM TICKET SALES BY JOHN FRITZE STAFF WRITER.(PREVIEW)

ALBANY -- When it comes to ticket sales, it seems an Academy Award nomination has more pull than the award itself.

Following the Oscar nomination announcements earlier this month, the Hoyts booking department re-released four nominated movies: ``Ulee's Gold,'' ``Mrs. Brown,'' ``Wings of the Dove,'' and ``Kundun.''

``All the hype is now,'' said Andrea McKenna, marketing vice president at Hoyts, which is based in Boston. McKenna said the company brings back nominated films as a benefit to its customers. But, McKenna said, few booking changes are ever made after the awards ceremony, which will take place March 23.
