Vic: Bracks ignores East Gippsland in fire relief, VicNats
A spokesman for Tourism Minister JOHN PANDAZOPOULOS says Gippsland East remains underthreat from bushfires, and the government won't encourage tourists to visit the regionuntil it's safe to do so.
The spokesman says fire activity is still unpredictable in Gippsland.
He says East Gippsland will be included in the marketing campaign when fire authoritiesgive the all-clear.
Meanwhile, the spokesman says grants of $50,000 each have been given to the Indigo,Towong, East Gippsland and Alpine Shires to assist with bushfire relief.
